The Encampment module has been enhanced to improve the management and enumeration of encampment information. The Manage Encampment view now includes dedicated Clients, Demographics, Enumeration History, and Location tabs, along with a new enumeration workflow that automatically includes clients actively present in an encampment.

As part of the upgrade, existing Encampment Enumeration records will be converted to include Start Date and End Date. The conversion uses a configurable buffer period to determine when consecutive historical enumerations for the same client and encampment should be combined, while a configurable final enumeration period determines the End Date of the client's final historical record.

Here’s a list of what’s different related to encampments:

• Updated the Manage Encampment view to include the following tabs:

  • Client Name(s): Allows users to manage the list of clients present at an encampment.

  • Demographics: Provides a breakdown of clients present at an encampment by demographic.

  • Enumeration History: Replaces the old “Enumeration” tab. The functionalities remain the same.

  • Photos: Allows users to add pictures of an encampment location.

• Updated the Display Encampment view to include the following tabs:

  • Client Name(s): Allows users to see the list of clients present at an encampment.

  • Demographics: Provides a breakdown of clients present at an encampment by demographic.

  • Enumeration History: Replaces the old “Enumeration” tab. The functionalities remain the same.

• Introduced a new enumeration workflow.

  • Users only need to manage clients who are present from the Manage Encampment view.

  • Clients actively in an encampment are automatically added to the enumeration.

  • Users only need to input anonymous clients during enumeration.

  • Added a Demographic tab to the Encampment record.

• Days spent in encampments now count towards the total days homeless and Chronicity calculation.

• HIFIS now uses encampment activities in the Client State calculation.

• Enumeration activities now appear in the Client Activity Log.

• Users can now add a comment to an encampment enumeration record.

• Users can now add up to 10 pictures to an encampment record.

• The province and city fields were added to the Encampment form. Users can enter these fields manually or use the Capture Encampment Location feature to populate them automatically.

• HIFIS will automatically close active enumeration records when a client is booked into a shelter.

• The Back and Edit buttons have been moved to the bottom of the Encampment form.

• Encampment stays are now displayed in the Housing History module.

• Added the following new Encampment rights to the rights tree:

  • Display Encampment Enumeration: Allows the user to view an encampment enumeration record.

  • List Encampment Clients: Allows the user to view the list of clients associated with an encampment.

Other Changes:

• Resolved an issue where a client’s housing status was incorrectly updated to Unknown after a shelter stay ended.

Database Changes:

• New table: HIFIS_Encampment_Clients

• Removed table: HIFIS_Encampment_Enumerations_Clients

• Modified view: vw_HousingAndShelterHistory

  • New columns:

    • EncampmentClientID

    • EncampmentID

    • EncampmentName
